The Sauermann DBM 620C Air Flow Meter is a multipurpose electronic air balancing instrument primarily used for efficiently taking direct air volume readings from air vents. The Sauermann DBM 620C Advanced Kit includes everything in the DBM 620 Standard Kit, including the standard 2 x 2' (610 x 610 mm) hood with flow straighteners, plus 4 additional hoods. All hoods have a foldable frame and can be used on any type of grid or diffuser in air supply or exhaust. The Sauermann balometer measuring range is from 35 to 4250 m3/h with a 1 m3/h resolution.
Air flow is a critical measurement for maintaining indoor air quality in commercial and public buildings, and the air change rate (ACR) is of critical importance. The DBM 620C is designed to accurately and reliably measure the ACR using the accompanying mobile app, ensuring the building's HVAC/R system works as effectively and efficiently as possible. Roughly replacing the air in a room by bringing in a flow of filtered air from outside is the most effective way to reduce concentrations of pollutants such as volatile organic compounds (VOC), bacteria, viruses, and dust. Therefore, measuring the ACR is especially important in ensuring that the air inside a confined space is clean and healthy. An air flow meter is the most versatile and effective portable instrument for measuring air flow.
The removable measuring unit of the Sauermann DBM 620C air capture hood can be used as a micromanometer and can be attached to a Pitot tube to measure airflow velocity in an air duct or by connecting two silicone tubes to check for dirty filters. The measurement grid, attached to the base, allows the measurement through 24 points all over the surface of the grid. Measurement is performed using a differential pressure sensor adjusted in atmospheric pressure and temperature, compensated in temperature.
The Sauermann DMB 620C balometer allows control and balancing of airflow in air conditioning systems. Hoods are airtight and have a transparent viewing window that allows the user to see through to the vent to ensure the hood is in the proper position. In addition, the DBM 620C is compatible with all types of air vents - incoming and outgoing.
