General Tools NGD8800 Handheld Combustible Gas Detector

Model: NGD8800

NGD8800 is a combustible gas leak detector that uses a semi-conductor sensor to detect the presence of most combustible gases including methane, hydrogen, iso-butane, ethanol, ethylene, tetracholoroethylene, dimethyl sulfide, toluene, formaldehyde, diethyl-ether, ethyl-acetate, dichloromethane, ammonia, and R-22 with a sensitivity as low as 5ppm for methane. The NGD8800 gas leak detector is ideal for checking automotive exhaust and fuel systems, liquid and gas-fired heating systems, propane tanks, cracked heat exchangers, and manholes/sewers.

General Tools NGD8800 Offers

The General Tools NGD8800 is easy to use with a three-button interface - a power/reset button, and adjustable Hi and Lo Sensitivity buttons. The gas detector features an audible alarm and a tricolor LED bar indicator that ranges from green to red to indicate the gas level concentration. The 15.5 in. flexible gooseneck probe is useful for hard to reach areas.
The gas leak detector provides two levels of sensitivity and defaults to the high sensitivity setting when turned on.
The NGD8800 combustible gas detector features an ambient concentration reset function that sets the meter's sensor to ignore the present concentrations of ambient combustible gas. This feature allows the user to pinpoint the source of the leak by enabling the gas detector to register only higher gas concentrations.
A leak check vial is included with the NGD8800 to verify that the gas leak detector is functioning properly.
The General Tools combustible gas detector is powered by four AA batteries with a battery life of approximately 40 hours. The meter includes a low battery indicator and is programmed to turn off after 10 minutes of inactivity to preserve battery life.
