DR82 is a state-of-the-art infrared refrigerant leak detector with a sensitivity better than 0.03 oz./yr (1g/a) to HFC, CFC, HCFC, HFO, and blends. The Infrared sensor will last up to 10 years and is not triggered by moisture or oil. Service technicians working with residential and commercial HVAC/R systems as well as automotive technicians will find the DR82 leak detector ideal for locating refrigerant leaks quickly and efficiently. The DR82 is replacing the SRL2K7 Infrared Refrigerant Leak Detector.

The DR82 leak detector helps HVACR technicians to work more effectively with more information. The large LCD display shows a numerical value for the leak size and a bar graph indicating the intensity of the leak. The backlit LCD display can be seen in dark places or in direct sun to give the technician information on the refrigerants detected and the remaining battery life of the unit. The DR82 Fieldpiece uses a rechargeable lithium battery that last up to 10 hours on a single charge.
In addition, both a visual (flashing tip) and audible alarm on the 17” flexible probe alert the technician when a refrigerant leak is detected. If desired, the alarm can be muted.
The Fieldpiece leak detector DR82 has the most consistent leak detection across all refrigerants, making it easy for the technician to locate the leak in any situation, even a contaminated environment. The DR82 refrigerant leak detector starts up in the automatic zero mode and sets a new zero-point every 4-5 seconds, indicated by a double beep.
A change of refrigerant concentration will trigger an infrared sensor. If the sensor is held in one area, the sensor will adjust to the refrigerant level and cease to detect a leak. To locate a leak, the user slowly moves the probe back and forth across refrigerant lines looking for higher concentrations of refrigerant indicated by the visual and audible alarms.
The DR82 IR refrigerant Leak detector has the added protection of a replaceable water-blocking filter that keeps moisture and contaminants from reaching the sensor preventing contaminant-related failures.
The Fieldpiece IR Leak Detector DR82 is compact, durable, and easy to hold; designed for the toughest work site with a rugged, impact and water resistant, IP54-certified over molded body.
The Fieldpiece refrigerant leak detector DR82 comes in a blow-molded carrying case with a USB charging cable, a wall adapter, and 5 replacement filter tips.
